Summary3

In the article"existential depression", the author Douglas Eby mentions that existential depression doesn't occur to a lot of people, yet it usually happens to very gifted people.
Eby states that although this type of depression is not specific, it can make a person feel numb and unable to complete certain tests. Moreover, Eby figures out that a small number of people may feel like life is not worth living and decide to committee a suicide. In addition, Eby demonstrates that other researches on depression, such as the research done by Clive Hezell PhD confirms that there is a related existential depression where people feel emotionally disturbed because they do not think they have participated in life and feel guilty about it. Furthermore, Eby also informs depression is caused by anxiety that is the inability to work as intensely as they are expected to work, and this causes this type of people to be less creative.
At the end, Eby suggests methods to deal with existential depression by becoming more involved in creative projects so that life will become more purposeful.
